The Molecular Epidemiology Of Cancer: Perspectives And Approaches - Symposium In Honor Of Dr. Barbara Sorenson Hulka

The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center will host a symposium to honor Barbara Hulka, PhD, Kenan Professor Emerita in the Department of Epidemiology. The event, titled "The Molecular Epidemiology of Cancer: Perspectives and Approaches," will provide an overview of current perspectives, approaches, and future directions to understanding the causes and consequences of cancer, using methods and concepts from molecular biology and epidemiology. Speakers include Robert Millikan, PhD, Hulka Distinguished Professor of epidemiology; Nathaniel Rothman, MD, from the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the National Cancer Institute; and Margaret Spitz, M.D., from the Department of Epidemiology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas. Registration and refreshments at 8 a.m.; program begins at 8:30 a.m.
